Turnkey Wedding or Custom Wedding?

We can read on all the wedding sites, reception and wedding planner that we are offered turnkey weddings and tailor-made weddings or even tailor-made weddings!
Well, I confess that at the beginning, I did not understand too much, because for me a wedding "turnkey" is not a wedding "made to measure”.
Let's do a little housekeeping on this subject and let me give you explanations.

Initially, what is a turnkey marriage?

According to my research, a turnkey project is a project that, once realized, is immediately ready for use. In the site Weddingaaha.com , to make us understand this expression, he compares this with a mechanic who gives his buyer customer, the key to his beautiful new car, freshly delivered and ready to use.
I've also seen wedding organizations, party venues and even DJs, yes DJs, offering brides and grooms a turnkey wedding. In general, when it is presented like that, they offer you professionals with whom they are used to working, with whom they have concluded certain arrangements and negotiated advantageous prices. Often, they are providers that will be taxed.

Is a turnkey wedding also a custom wedding?

Yes, that is my question! In fact, you, as future brides and grooms, really need to ask a lot of questions to the provider in front of you who offers you a turnkey wedding, because there are two options:

The first is a marriage with imposed providers, a kind of pack if I can say. So, in this case, for me, it's not a custom wedding, but just a turnkey wedding actually!

The second option is a wedding where you have the choice on the providers, they are not taxed and there, we can afford to say: a wedding turnkey custom. And again, this expression is still to take with tweezers, because a real custom wedding can have differences anyway! Why?

What is a real custom wedding?

A real custom wedding is a wedding where you have a choice on everything, no imposed providers. So, the wedding planner will obviously offer you at first professional wedding partners with whom she used to work and with whom she has already negotiated prices, it's normal, but ...

If you really want a tailor-made wedding, it may well be that you decide to appeal to other providers, which the wedding planner has not yet met (for example, if you choose a foreign wedding destination #destination wedding or out of the near area where the agency of the chosen wedding planner is installed) and it will then, at that moment, go to meet these new professionals and negotiate the best service for you. That's also the job of a wedding planner. If you are having a turnkey wedding with a DJ for example or a venue, do not expect them to look for professionals and negotiate prices! You will have to be content with what they have available.

In summary, your future bride to be careful, ask the right questions and especially to define beforehand with darling what you want for your wedding. You should also know that if you opt for a turnkey wedding proposed by a professional other than a wedding planner, you will not benefit from the same support! A wedding planner is with you, by your side for each step of the organization, whether for the choice of your dress, your hairstyle, your announcements, etc.
Do not expect this kind of service from another provider than a wedding planner!

As a wedding planner in Chennai, I can offer you a tailor-made wedding, even if for me each wedding should be tailor-made in every case, personalized to the maximum and not look like the wedding of your cousin of the year last (although he was great )! I leave you carte blanche, you have the choice on everything and it is normal. Nothing will be imposed on you.

Let's say that the "turnkey" for me and certainly for my colleagues wedding planner, will be more to take in the direction: do not worry about anything, take full advantage of your big day, everything will be as you dreamed and even better.

You will only have to let yourself slide on the waves of your love throughout the day and concretize your union.
Finally, the choice is in the hands of your fiancé and you and especially be vigilant.

Are you more interested in a turnkey formula or a totally personalized wedding? Do you have any important elements that you would like to add to this article?

I invite you to leave a comment below, I would be happy to talk with you and the hundreds of other readers.

See you soon for a new article ...

For this day to count ...

10 Things to Know About Your Flowers for The Wedding

I hope that you are well and that your preparations evolve as you wish.

Today, it is really important that you know the following 10 points about your flowers for the wedding.

You will definitely want to order a bridal bouquet (plan a second bouquet if you want to throw your bouquet and keep one for yourself as a souvenir), some smaller bouquets for your witnesses and bridesmaids, buttonholes for dads and male witnesses, the decorations of the church, the bouquet to the virgin, the flowers on the car that will take you and then the decoration of the party. There is the decoration of the secular ceremony (if there is one) and the reception area, the centerpieces, etc.
As you can see, in general, to a wedding, the flowers, it is almost inevitable ... and I have not even told you about wreaths to put in the hair, arches of flowers and many other things ...

I propose to examine with you the important topics that revolve around the choice of your flowers.

1.       Choose your flowers according to the season you are getting married. They will be much more beautiful than if you bring them from afar, and in addition it is not very ecological ... Try really to be flexible on the choice of flowers, you would be surprised what a good florist is able to you achieve as wonders, even with flowers you did not think.
2.       Each florist is different. Indeed, not all florists are the same, some have a particular style. Make sure this style fits well with the spirit of your wedding, with the theme you have chosen. For example, for a wedding in September, I advised one of my married couples, a florist whose creations are mainly focused on bohemian, simply because the couple wants a bohemian-chic wedding.
3.       Ask him his conditions of delivery, how long before the beginning of the wedding the floral creations will be realized and if he / she proposes other services.
4.       Do not forget that flowers will be a big part of your wedding budget. Not only because the flowers are expensive, but also because we must add the time worked by the florists to make all the different achievements. This is not an easy job because there is not only a technique to see several techniques to master, but you must also be creative and create a real harmony for the atmosphere of the wedding.
5.       Creating one's floral arrangements is not at all as easy as it looks. There is a real work of titan, clean flowers by removing traces of pollen, thorns, make sure to make a pretty floral creation is an art. If you really want to do it yourself, I advise you to follow one or two workshops with florists who will teach you to make a nice bouquet and beautiful centerpieces for example.
6.       Watch out for the climate on the wedding day. The hot weather of the summer or the cold of the winter can put your flowers to the test.
7.       Avoid flowers that smell very strong near tables or tables. This could bother guests while they eat and even worse change the taste of food. Ask your florist for advice.
8.       Consider the appearance of the place of reception of your wedding to choose your floral decoration. There is a certain sense of aesthetics to keep, everything must be harmonious. For example, if your place of reception is already fantastic, no need to add tons of flowers. There is only to be subtle.
9.       Customize your bouquet. It is very fashionable at the moment, you can add for example, a jewel that represents something important for you or a necklace of pearls or crystal. It will give the little touch and more.
10.   If for your protection for the environment is important, prefer a florist who works with local flowers.

Wedding at Etna

One of the creative ideas for your celebration can be the organization of a ceremony on ... Etna! Among the lunar craters and with an incredible panorama at an altitude of more than 2000 meters!
Sicilia Bedda Events shares the most interesting facts about this magnificent volcano:
1.       Etna is the highest active volcano in Europe - 3,340 meters above sea level.
2.       On its slopes, at the beginning, you will see vineyards, olive and nut groves, then forests of oak and chestnut, and how lava flows together, pines, larch and birch coexist. By the way, somewhere in the middle of the road to the top, nature is very similar to the middle zone of Russia.
3.       You can climb to a height of 2,300 meters by cable car, then up to 2,900 by jeep. On foot it is rather heavy, since the air is discharged, and to go long enough.
4.       The temperature difference between the "bottom" and "top" can reach 20 degrees.
5.       The age of Etna is about 600,000 years old! The area of the territory is 1,190 square meters. km, and the perimeter of the base - 140 square meters. km
6.       There are about 400 craters on the volcano. On average, the eruption of lava from different craters occurs every three months.
7.       Etna is always active and does not save all her power in herself, therefore she is not as dangerous as many consider. Places say when they look at white smoke from the top: “Etna fuma” (Etna smokes). If the smoke is red, then an eruption is near. In clear weather from many Sicilian towns can be seen as the lava slowly goes down.
8.       On the slopes of Etna you will see many areas of agritourism, where you can eat very tasty and stay for the night. There are also many wineries where you can have lunch and taste Sicilian wines or organize your holiday!
9.       And lastly a secret: few tourists know that you can take a ride on the Circumetnea train around Etna. The railway that connects the towns around the volcano is called “Ferrovia Circumetnea” (Railway Etnok). Usually this is just one old trailer, which in three hours will rush you around to show stunning panoramas and small towns. Romantic, right?

Retro Wedding Decor

Would you like to organize a vintage wedding? Many couples prefer a wedding in Italy in the retro style of the 20s or 50s of the last century. If this idea is to your liking, it is worth highlighting a lot of details when creating a celebration, so that they remind of the chosen theme. This is, of course: a wedding dress with appropriate accessories, a groom's suit, a retro car for the newlyweds, floral elements of the bride's bouquet and the decor of the wedding venue. One of the very original and interesting details in the design of the celebration can be a buffet of sweets.
Let's start with the table top. In order to get a more original effect, instead of the classic table, you can choose pieces of furniture that are intended for other uses. For example, a white closet with glass doors in retro style or the famous carriage with ice cream or Sicilian granite. Only 50 years ago such carriages with sweets could be seen on all the streets of Sicily. And now - this is a great idea to create a buffet with sweets for a vintage wedding. Ornaments can be fruit: oranges and lemons. The visual effect will certainly surprise all those invited! Finally, if you don’t like white, you can always choose antique tables or bedside tables in the natural color of wood.
Now you can think about the items that will be used to decorate the entire buffet. Vintage itself is a very cozy and informal style that can cover various types of elements. For this occasion, glass jars can be used as a beautiful candlestick, or which can be filled with colored pebbles or flower petals. In addition, you can decorate the buffet with lanterns. And finally, the picture is completed with elegant white cakes and cupcakes.
For a wedding with a vintage touch, cakes of a wide variety of tastes are ideal: for example, apple strudel, chocolate or vanilla cake. For those who love sweets, prepare delicious cups containing mousse in different flavors, decorated with fruit or cream.
Have you already thought about a sweet wedding buffet?

Wedding in Sicily

The key to understanding Sicily is tradition!

The traditions and customs that are passed down from generation to generation in Sicily are unparalleled, because deeply honored on this earth and in our modern time. Wedding day is a unique day, including to gather around you many relatives and friends.

Earlier in Sicily, as in many other places, they were married much earlier, at about 18 years of age. Most of the women before marriage were always under the supervision of the family, older brothers and sisters and parents, most often they were at home, where they were engaged in any craft. Many girls dreamed of getting rid of such a conclusion and supervision as soon as possible, and therefore were looking forward to finally meet their prince. In order to quickly fulfill their desire and find out what the future husband would be, they did various ceremonies: they put three beans under the pillow, one peeled, one in the peel and one half peeled. Waking up, the future bride got at random one of the beans. In the peel - meant that she would marry a rich man, half-purified - of the middle class, and completely without the peel - poor.

In order to ask for the hand of her future bride, the young man came to her father, and after reaching an agreement with her mother, a whole list of the dowry was made, which she had to give to her daughter. During the week this dowry was exhibited in the house so that all relatives could admire it. There is still a custom, when relatives and friends come to visit some time before the wedding and all together arrange a real holiday: with songs, dances and music, a photo session, and then dinner, they collect the bride and her things for future family life. And if the parents were against the wedding of a young couple, the lovers made an escape and friends usually helped them with this.

Another tradition in Sicily is the preparation of the bed for the newlyweds. A few days before the wedding, friends and sisters of the bride, among whom an unmarried girl must be, come to the spouses' house to make the bed, usually with a set and linen or silk cover. The bed should be covered by an unmarried girl under supervision, as a rule, to a mother, a woman who conveys wisdom and experience. And between the sheets put money, confetti, grains and rice - symbols of wealth and joy.

After the date of the wedding is chosen, all expenses are evenly divided between the parents of the bride and the future husband: the bride’s family buys the bedroom and living room, everything necessary for the kitchen, the wedding dress and invitations from the bride. For the future husband-house, part of the wedding expenses: a photographer, a florist and a honeymoon trip.
In Sicily, it is also considered a bad omen if the groom sees the wedding dress before the wedding and is usually kept with relatives or friends who deliver it on their wedding day and help the bride get dressed.

There are two wedding bouquets for the bride: one gift from parents for making, a photo session in the house of the bride, and the second for a wedding as a gift from the groom.
In Sicily, the bridegroom is waiting for the bride not at the altar, but in the center of the aisle. The future husband enters the church shortly before the bride arrives, accompanied by both parents. Soon after, the bride comes, under the arm of the father and next to the mother. Two families meet in the middle of the aisle, the groom kisses the bride on the forehead, gives her a bouquet, and all together go to the altar.
At the exit from the church, newlyweds throw rice, rose petals, and then luxury cars, decorated with balloons, arrive.
After the celebration, the newlyweds escorted guests, standing at a large table with gifts. In Sicily, it is customary to give gifts not only to the husband and wife, but also to their guests.
