Jennifer Lopez is taking her sweet time planning her wedding to fiancé Alex Rodriguez.
The multi-hyphenate explained that she and the former Yankee slugger have so much on their plate, that planning their “I dos” has been pushed to the back burner for now.
“We haven’t started planning yet. You know, we just got engaged! Then right afterwards we started working right away, and we’re working the rest of the year, so I don’t know what’s going to happen,” she told WKTU’s Cubby & Carolina In the Morning. “We haven’t decided if we’re going to squeeze it in somewhere or we’re going to wait, so, you know. I really don’t know yet. It’s easy, I’m not lying right now!”
The “I’m Real” singer has stayed busy in the month since, releasing her new single “Medicine” this week, complete with a splashy, carnival-themed music video in which she flaunts her iconic derrière.
Lopez has also been filming the stripper drama Hustlers, in which she stars alongside Cardi B, Constance Wu and Lili Reinhart as revenge-seeking strippers who band together with a group of fellow exotic dancers to scam their male Wall Street clients out of thousands of dollars. Lopez will play Ramona, who she described as a “tough” and “gritty” character at a TIDALxCRWN event today.
She added that Ramona is practically the opposite of her usual girl-next-door role, a la Maid in Manhattan and The Wedding Planner. Still, Lopez enjoyed stepping out of her comfort zone and said Rodriguez has been nothing but supportive every step of the way.
“He knows I’m a serious actor,” Lopez said. “He sees the bravery in what I’m doing (for Hustlers).”

And if a music video, a new film and showing up her fiancé in the weight room wasn’t enough, the star will also embark on her first tour in six years this summer, called It’s My Party: The Live Celebration, in honor of her 50th birthday in July.
“The kids will probably be with me the whole time,” Lopez told WKTU of bringing her children along. “Alex has Sunday Night Baseball, so he’ll be in and out. He said, ‘I’m definitely at opening night, I’m definitely at closing night.’ In between we’ll figure it out.’”
The tour will kick off in Los Angeles June 7 and head to 25 cities across North America before wrapping in Miami on July 25.
Everything Jennifer Lopez & Alex Rodriguez Have Said About Each Other
The athlete raved about his new fiancée to the New York Times Magazine in an interview published Sunday, calling her the most “honest” person he’s ever met.
“She’s so authentic and genuine. It was strange to see someone of such magnitude be so normal, be such a great mother and partner and friend,” he told the outlet. “How can you be like this and then go perform in front of 80,000 people? But that’s her superpower.”
A source previously told PEOPLE that Rodriguez’s proposal to Lopez came out of the blue for the singer.
“Jennifer is ecstatic and so are their families and friends. Very few people knew Alex planned on proposing. It was very much a surprise for Jennifer,” the source said. “It was just how Alex wanted it.”
Meanwhile, an insider said that while the couple were not yet in planning mode, their four children would “definitely” play a big role in the nuptials.
Lopez and ex-husband Marc Anthony, 50, have 11-year-old twins Maximilian “Max” David and Emme Maribel, while Rodriguez and ex-wife Cynthia Scurtis, 46, share daughters Ella, 10, and Natasha, 14.
